Terms of use

SolarBench is free to use for everyone, at home and in schools, for learning and for fun.

Be decent

Pick kind nicknames. Anything rude, hateful or designed to upset people will be removed and banned without discussion. Do not attempt to overload, scrape or abuse the servers; the speed test has daily fair-use limits.

Honesty about accuracy

SolarBench aims to be scientifically truthful and clearly labels what is compressed or dramatised, but it is an educational visualisation, not an ephemeris service. Do not navigate actual spacecraft with it.

No warranty

Provided as-is, with no guarantees of availability or fitness for any purpose. Scores may be reset if the database needs maintenance.

Schools

Teachers may use, project, print and share SolarBench and its teacher pack freely for education. Class codes are managed by teachers; we cannot recover a forgotten code, but a new one takes ten seconds to make.
