Accessibility

SolarBench wants every child to be able to enjoy it. Here is where things stand, honestly.

What works well

Every control is a real button reachable by keyboard, with visible focus outlines. Panels close with Escape. All information shown in the 3D scene is also available as text: each world's card, the TONIGHT panel and the guided tour are plain readable text at high contrast. The interface respects your system's reduced-motion preference by calming animations and making solar flares rarer. Text scales with browser zoom.

Known limits

The 3D scene itself is visual by nature and is described to screen readers only in summary; the information lives in the text panels instead. The flight game needs a mouse or touch and quick reactions. Some overlays are long on very small phones and require scrolling.

Photosensitivity

The stress test speeds the whole scene up and the Sun occasionally erupts with bright flares. With reduced motion switched on in your device settings, flares become rare and gentle. If you are sensitive to flashing imagery, we suggest enabling that setting before running the stress test.
